Tegan the Vegan and I have been eating our way through Nashville. The trip has been wonderful and I wanted to recap the vegan restaurants we visited. Keep this post handy in case you ever head out to “Nash Vegas” and want a restaurant recommendation.
Avo
Nashville locals had great things to say about the food and ambiance at Avo. We stopped by for dinner and got the kimchee rolls, kale salad, cauliflower dish, and the giant dumpling to share—plenty of food for two people.
The kimchee dish and salad were our favorites. The dumpling was tricky to eat but tasty overall, but the cauliflower was so bland I debated sending it back. We ended the night with a mango cheesecake that was not delicious but the lemonade I ordered was!
Graze
This was our favorite restaurant of the whole trip.
We went for brunch and ordered two different dishes with similar compositions. Tegan had the tostada, I had the breakfast bowl, and both incorporated the best tofu scramble I’ve ever had.
My bowl was over a biscuit that didn’t seem vegan at all (so good) and we split a stack of blueberry pancakes. The food was deliciously dense so we couldn’t finish everything we ordered. The portions are large so keep that in mind if you visit.
The Wild Cow
We stopped in to get a coffee and a snack but didn’t get the full Wild Cow experience. The staff was lovely and the portions were generous but I wasn’t crazy about the nachos. I’ll definitely go again next time I’m in town to try more of their menu items.
Copper Branch
I was familiar with Copper Branch after a visit to Montreal a few years back. We went for my first meal in Nashville mostly because they were the only place near us that served vegan breakfast.
The menu selection is extensive and the options were solid. My breakfast sandwich was more filling than flavorful but they had a coffee cake that I’ve been dreaming of ever since.
